Android device owners have difficulty connecting their devices to a desktop computer only for the first time. The fact is that the developers from Google have chosen a non-trivial solution to this problem.

Step 1
Connect your Android smartphone to the computer using a USB cable and wait for the computer to recognize the unit as a new USB device. Outwardly, nothing else happens. In order for the phone to be recognized as a new external drive, you need to move the status bar at the top of the smartphone screen down and click on the "USB device connected" field.
Step 2
Wait for the system's connection information message to appear and click the "Mount memory card" button at the bottom of the phone screen. After that, call the main system menu of the desktop computer by clicking the "Start" button, and go to the "All Programs" item.

Expand the Accessories link and launch the Windows Explorer application. Find your phone memory card in the directory. It now appears as a removable USB drive.

One of the main reasons many users need to connect their Android mobile devices to their desktop computer is the desire to access the Internet. To do this, go back to the main Start menu and type cmd in the text box of the search bar. Call the context menu of the found command line utility by right-clicking and specifying the "Run as administrator" command.
Step 5
Type (netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow ssid = "MS Virtual WiFi" key = "Pass for virtual wifi" keyUsage = persistent) in the Windows command interpreter test field and confirm the selected action by pressing the Enter function key.
Step 6
Then enter the following command at the command prompt: (netsh wlan start hostednetwork). Save your changes by pressing the Enter softkey again. These steps will create a virtual wireless adapter on the system.
