Find out the maximum resolution that the TV matrix supports. The higher the screen resolution, the closer the viewer can be to the display. This rule has one peculiarity: many TV channels broadcast images of low quality and resolution. Take this into account when choosing the diagonal of the matrix.

Examine the display specifications. Pay attention to the contrast and brightness values. Plasma panels are usually bright enough to comfortably watch TV, even when the screen is directly exposed to sunlight. Be sure to check the refresh rate (hertz) of the display. This characteristic is extremely important if you will be using your TV as an additional computer monitor.

If the diagonal of the TV display is more than 50 inches, the matrix resolution should not be less than 1280x720 pixels. This defect is peculiar only to old models of plasma TVs. Note also that it is not always possible to notice with the naked eye the difference between the resolutions 1600x900 and 1920x1080 pixels.

Pay attention to the additional options that the Plasma TV supports. Modern TV models not only work with external hard drives, but are even endowed with the function of connecting to the Internet.
