The PUK is an 8-digit number that allows you to unblock your SIM card if you enter your PIN incorrectly. It is provided by the mobile operator when connecting or purchasing a phone. You must be extremely careful when entering this code into your mobile phone.
Instructions
Step 1
Turn on your phone and enter the security PIN to activate the mobile operator's SIM card. The exceptions are cases when this function of requesting a code is disabled by the user. If the required numbers were entered incorrectly three times, the phone will automatically block the SIM card. In this case, you can set an additional PIN2 in your phone, which will be more memorable than the first one. However, if it is missing or has not been installed, the SIM card can only be unblocked using the PUK code.
Step 2
Find the PUK code on the box in which the SIM card was sold. As a rule, it is written next to the PIN and consists of 8 digits. If you have lost the packaging and have not saved these codes in any other way, you can try to contact the support service of the mobile operator.
Step 3
Explain your problem and ask to recover the PUK code. In this case, you will most likely be asked to go to the nearest office of the operator with a passport and identification number. In order not to perform this burdensome procedure, you can register a voice code with a mobile operator. Currently, many cellular companies use a similar method of identifying a subscriber.
Step 4
Enter the PUK code in the SIM card unblocking window and click the "OK" button. If you entered numbers incorrectly, then double-check their order. It provides 10 attempts to dial this code. If the wrong PUK code was dialed all 10 times, the card is completely blocked.
Step 5
Set a new PIN-code after entering the PUK-code and press the "OK" button, then confirm the operation. As a result, the SIM card will be unlocked. Also, some SIM cards have a PUK2 code, which is designed to unblock certain functions of the phone and the mobile operator if the PIN2 code is entered incorrectly. If you have this code, then it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the instructions for its use, which should be included with the SIM card.
