To prevent use after theft, many car radios require a code to be entered when enabled. At the same time, as an additional security measure, manufacturers sometimes make the very order of a set of code not obvious.
Instructions
Step 1
When purchasing a used car radio, ask the previous owner to provide the documents included in its delivery set. Firstly, you will be sure that the device is not stolen, and secondly, you will find out what the code is.
Step 2
Try this method of typing code first. Turn on the radio and wait for the word CODE and four hyphens to appear on its indicator. Press the button to enable the first fixed setting (it is designated by the number 1) so many times that the number of clicks corresponds to the first digit of the password. Enter the second digit in the same way using the second fixed setting enable button, and so on. After typing all four characters, press the button for turning on the fifth setting, and the tape recorder will work.
Step 3
If this method does not help, try entering the code in the same way, but instead of the fifth fixed setting, press the RDS and TP keys at the same time.
Step 4
Also try the following method: use the rotary joystick to select the first digit of the code, then press the down arrow key, then enter the rest of the digits in the same way. After typing the last character, hold down the joystick down key until the device starts working.
Step 5
If you have a 10-key numeric keypad, type the code on it, and then press and hold the number 6 key for a long time.
Step 6
If you failed to enter the code by any of the specified methods, and the instructions for dialing it are not specified, do not continue trying to unlock the radio tape recorder, since the number of attempts to enter the password is limited. Contact the manufacturer's support service, and there, when you provide the documents for the tape recorder, you may be informed about the procedure for dialing the code for free. If the attempts are exhausted and the device is locked completely, its unlocking will be paid.
