The proper functioning of the scanner is ensured by its correct installation and observance of the rules of operation of the device. First of all, a driver from the scanner manufacturer must be installed on the computer, and all devices used for connection must be in good working order.

Instructions
Step 1
Install the scanner in a previously prepared location. With the computer turned off, connect the corresponding ports on the computer and the scanner to each other. Connect the power cord of the instrument to the AC adapter, then plug it into a power outlet. Turn on your computer and scanner. If the scanner is working properly, a green indicator on the scanner body will turn on.
Step 2
Install the scanner driver for the operating system you are using on your computer. To do this, you can use the disc supplied with the scanner or find the driver on the device manufacturer's website. If necessary, install other manufacturer-recommended software on the disc.
Step 3
Check the operation of the scanner in various modes of operation. Typical malfunctions of the scanner can be as follows: - no glow of the power indicator when the device is connected to the mains;
- the computer does not recognize the scanner;
- a red indicator on the scanner body is on;
- scanning is very slow.
Step 4
If the power indicator does not light up, this indicates a power circuit malfunction. To eliminate this deficiency, you need to check the health of the fuse, AC adapter and mains cable. Defective hardware must be replaced.
Step 5
If the computer cannot recognize the scanner, the instrument may not have been installed properly. In the Device Manager window, uninstall the scanner driver and reinstall it.
Step 6
A glowing red indicator on the device means its malfunction. As a rule, for this case, the manufacturer describes typical scanner malfunctions and measures for their elimination in the instruction manual. Follow the recommendations in the instructions.
Step 7
When scanning slowly, check which port the instrument is connected to. The problem may be caused by connecting it to a slow USB 1.1 port. Connect the scanner to a USB 2.0 port.
