IMessage is an incredibly convenient service available to owners of iOS devices. This program is a so-called chat where owners of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad can communicate. Instant messages are sent over 3G or Wi-Fi.
Necessary
Apple device internet connection
Instructions
Step 1
IMessage users are identified by email or phone number. Since both options are available on the iPhone, messages may come instead of regular SMS. For iPad and iPod touch owners, messages should only be sent to an email address. You can specify your mailbox for iMessage in the settings, in the "Messages" section.
Step 2
In order to activate the iMessage service, you must enter your AppleID login and password. By the way, the mail used for the Apple ID is the default mail for receiving messages via iMessage. However, it is not necessary to use this particular address. It can be changed in the settings to any other.
Step 3
The iMessage service can only be used online. The owners of the above Apple devices can exchange messages with photos and videos. You can distinguish the format of an iMessage message from the usual one by the color of the send message button and the input field. If the color of the button is blue, and the input field contains the inscription iMessage, then the interlocutor is connected to this service. If one of the interlocutors is offline, the send button turns green. If the sending of an iMessage fails, an SMS or MMS is automatically sent.
Step 4
The mailbox that is listed in the iMessage settings is not associated with the user's AppleID. The service allows you to exchange iMessages across devices connected to the same AppleID.
