More recently, an air-conditioned car was considered the height of luxury, but today vehicles can be equipped not only with such equipment for heating and cooling the air, but also with climate control. These systems provide absolute ride comfort. Distinguish between two-, three- and four-zone climate control, one of the most common is the two-zone system.
Dual-zone climate is an intelligent climate control system in the vehicle interior. Compared to conventional air conditioners, such equipment has a number of advantages. This is the ability to regulate not only the temperature, but also the humidity inside the machine, high safety. In addition to adjusting the climate in the cabin, such a system can monitor the temperature outside.
Dual-zone climate control functionality
The climate control system consists of a number of elements. This is a heating unit, air conditioner, special sensors located in different places, a filtration system and an electronic control unit. The two-zone system differs from the others in that, in addition to the comfort of the driver, the sensations of the front passenger are also taken into account. Climate control selects the optimal mode of humidity and temperature in two zones at once. Three- and four-zone climate control is also equipped with a control panel, with which the passengers in the back seat can independently adjust the mode in the cabin.
The individual climate for the driver and passenger, although automatically maintained by the dual-zone system, will not be radically different due to the mixing of air in the cabin.
The two-zone system also takes into account the level of solar radiation, so the windows will not fog up in the cabin. When the heating is turned on, if the temperature is low, the climate control also activates the air conditioner. To exclude contaminated air from entering the passenger compartment, “smart” equipment cleans the air masses.
The nuances of the dual-zone climate control
Dual-zone climate control will prevent passengers and driver from catching cold. Mixed air circulates in the car interior - cold and hot, and it enters the specified zone. If necessary, the operation of the system can be adjusted manually, so it will be possible to drive in a car with dual-zone climate control if there are small children among the passengers.
The difference between climate control is also the presence of a recirculation system, by activating this valve, you can prevent the entry of contaminated, excessively dusty air from the outside into the passenger compartment.
Many motorists complain about noise in the cabin when using dual-zone climate control, but the sounds are heard only at the beginning of the operation of the equipment. When the optimum temperature is reached, the system switches to silent mode.
Dual-zone climate control is the best choice if the vehicle is primarily used for two-person travel. If there are more passengers, it is worth thinking about installing advanced equipment - with three or four service areas.
