An antenna is a device that allows people to watch TV. Unfortunately, very often TV viewing is not of high quality, all kinds of interference appear, and sometimes the image disappears altogether. This indicates that the external antenna is missing, installed incorrectly, or is out of order and requires replacement.
Necessary
- - a hammer;
- - staples;
- - screws;
- - insulating tape;
- - small nails;
- - drill and splitter.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a TV antenna and appropriate cable (extension). The cable can usually be purchased from the same location as the antenna itself.
Step 2
Contact the housing department if you live in an apartment building and ask if you can install a television antenna on the roof without documents, or if you need to issue some paperwork for this. If an agreement is required, enter into one with your home service company. As a rule, nothing is required to install a simple antenna in the same way as if you live in a private house.
Step 3
Take the keys to the exit to the roof if it is closed. This can be done in the same way by contacting the housing department at the place of residence. Unpack your antenna. Read carefully the instructions supplied with the device.
Step 4
Find a place on the roof where there are no foreign objects, pipes or other people's antennas nearby. This is required in order for your device to receive signals well. If there are no additional structures on the roof, it is best to install the TV antenna closer to the edge, while receiving the most optimal radio signal.
Step 5
Fasten the antenna with staples and screws at the desired location. For the best holding of the antenna, it is best to use special brackets, which can be obtained from a specialized store.
Step 6
Attach the purchased extension cord to the antenna and start using it to pave the way to your apartment. It is also necessary to fix the cable with staples and fix it by hammering in with small pre-prepared nails so as not to damage the inner veins.
Step 7
Pull the cable straight all the way to your apartment, to where your TV is, and along the top of the walls. In this case, the cable will be the least noticeable and will not interfere with anyone.
Step 8
Connect the antenna to your TV. If there are several TVs in the apartment, use a special splitter from which you continue to pull the cable to another device. Tune TV channels.
