PSP (PlayStation Portable) is a portable game console that entered the market in 2004. The PSP is the first portable console to use a UMD optical drive as its primary storage medium. In addition, it has a fairly large LCD display and advanced multimedia capabilities, but this is hardly enough for avid gamers. Therefore, they often wonder how they can connect the PSP to a computer, or rather, to a monitor.

Step 1
Indeed, the PSP provides such an opportunity, and it's quite easy to do. To do this, you need a memory card of any size. Format it with your PSP as follows. Go to the "Settings" menu, then - "System settings" and select "Format card". After that, the console will independently create the necessary folders and files, and then place them on the memory card.

Then you can use two connection options. The first is using a USB or mini-USB cable. To do this, plug one end of the cable into your PSP and the other into a port on your computer, then turn on your console. Then select "Settings" and the item "USB Connection". The computer will give you a message that new hardware has been found. After that, go to My Computer and in the "Removable Devices" section, find the device that appears. Make sure that the computer sees the device's memory card and you can copy your data to it.

If the computer does not detect the PSP device, then go to the “Properties” menu of the computer, select the “Hardware” item, find there “Device Manager” and in it “Universal USB Bus Controllers”. At this point, remove all host controllers and click the "Search for new hardware" button. The computer will find all the devices that you have removed before, and will automatically reinstall the driver on the PSP.

If you don't have a cable, then just insert the memory card into the computer's card reader - this is the second connection method.

So how do you connect your PSP to a monitor so you can play games on the big screen? To do this, connect the console to a TV tuner or other card that is suitable for computer video capture. Then use the PC software to set up the TV tuner.

Another option is to purchase a VGA cable for your PSP and use it to connect your console to your monitor. Please be aware that only progressive scan games will work with this cable.
