Step 1

Check the basic engine parameters according to the manufacturer's instructions. First, determine the ignition timing, as well as the integrity of the electrical circuit. Make sure that there is voltage in the on-board network, that the injection system is working properly and that there are no external mechanical damages before checking the operation of the sensor.

Step 2

Increase the component fraction of gasoline in the mixture, to do this, disconnect the oxygen sensor from the shoe, connect it to a voltmeter. Raise the engine speed to 2500, artificially increase the gasoline content in the combustible mixture. To do this, use a mixture enrichment device. Engine RPM should drop to 200 RPM. Or, if you have an electronic injection machine, pull and insert the vacuum tube from the line pressure regulator.

Step 3

To determine the performance of the sensor, follow the readings of the voltmeter. If it quickly shows a voltage value of 0.9 V, then everything is in order with the sensor. If the response of the voltmeter is slow, or the signal has stopped at 0, 8, then the sensor must be replaced.

Step 4

Perform a lean test to check the oxygen sensor. Simulate air suction through the vacuum tube. Next, look at the voltmeter, if its reading drops to a value less than 0.2 V, then this is the correct reaction of the oxygen sensor. If the signal changes slowly, or the level is above 0.2 V, then the sensor must be replaced.

Step 5

Check the oxygen sensor using the dynamic mode test. Connect it to the connector of the injection system, connect a voltmeter in parallel with the connector. Restore the system to normal operation and set the engine RPM to within 1,500. The voltmeter reading should be about 0.5. If not, then the sensor is faulty.
