Instructions

Step 1

Write down the hardware version of the on-board computer before flashing. It is shown on the top line during power up.

Step 2

Download the update file and downloader. Everything must correspond to the version of the hardware implementation of the BC, otherwise the device will not work after the flashing.

Step 3

Connect the COM port of the adapter to the PC, connect the connector to the BC to connect it. Connect power to the connector, but do not apply power yet.

Step 4

Run a program called Boot24. A window will appear in front of you, in which there will be several menu sections: "Select a COM port", "Open firmware file", "Download".

Step 5

Click the button titled "Select COM Port". Click on the small triangle and in the drop-down list of available ports select the one to which your K-line adapter is connected. Then click the "OK" button. These actions need to be done only once, since the utility automatically remembers the initially specified port.

Step 6

Click the button titled "Open Firmware File". A window will appear on the display in which you need to specify the file with the firmware (*.rom). Then click "OK". It can often be found in the same folder as the program itself. If the name of the file has not changed, and it has already been loaded into the utility earlier, these actions can be omitted. The utility automatically remembers the location and name of the last specified file and reads the file from disk during boot.

Step 7

Turn off the power of the on-board computer (if it was turned on) and click on the "Download" button. On the monitor, the message "Turn on the BC" should appear. If you want to cancel the installation, click “Cancel”.

Step 8

Turn on the power to the on-board computer. If everything is done correctly, then during the connection the utility will start loading immediately. The progress bar of the installation process will grow. If everything went well, then at the moment of successful completion the message "Loading finished" will appear, which means that the BC is ready to work.
