Kids aren't the only ones who love remote control cars. Wired tankettes were used by German and Japanese troops during the Second World War. Used such devices and in Chernobyl. Such a control system can be made from improvised means.

Necessary

  • - large machine;
  • - 2 electric motors;
  • - flexible multicore cable;
  • - plastic box;
  • - plywood sheet;
  • - tumblers;
  • - buttons;
  • - batteries;
  • - reduction gear;
  • - set of tools.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a car with a swivel front axle. Otherwise, you will have to do it yourself. There is a fairly large assortment of such toys on sale.

Step 2

Provide the typewriter forward and reverse. Connect an electric motor to one or both rear wheels through a reduction gear. The motors can be the same. They can be taken from old toys, tape recorders, CD drives, etc. Any small motor will do.

Step 3

If there is no gearbox, fit a plastic or rubber tube over the protruding section of the motor shaft. A bicycle nipple will do. Install the engine so that the rubberized part of the axle comes into frictional connection with the outer surface of one of the rear wheels of the car.

Step 4

Select batteries so that the vehicle speed is acceptable. He must not drive too fast, otherwise he will be difficult to control.

Step 5

For the swing mechanism, cut a semicircle from a sheet of plywood or plastic with a diameter equal to the length of the front axle of the car. Usually the steering of toys is carried out by turning completely, which somewhat simplifies the task of creating a steering mechanism. From the underside of the car, firmly fasten the semicircle to the axle bracket so that it does not interfere with the rotation of the wheels. The semicircle must lie horizontally.

Step 6

Depending on the design of the car, the second motor, that is, the control motor, can be positioned both vertically and horizontally. But it should be in the middle of the arc. It is important that its rubberized axis, as in the first case, engages with the outer arc of the semicircle or with the horizontal section closest to it. In the second case, it would be good to attach the motor so that the semicircle lies on top of the rubberized axle. Pick up batteries for a smooth turn.

Step 7

Mount the control panel in a plastic box. Use 2 toggle switches for 3 positions (that is, those that have a center neutral position). In this design, the batteries are located in the car itself, so all you have to do is connect the control panel switches to the motors or batteries of the car with a flexible multicore cable. This must be done so that power from the motors is cut off at the neutral point of both switches. When the travel switch is in the forward-reverse position, the polarity of the travel motor power should be reversed in accordance with the position of the toggle switch. Likewise, the position of the left and right swing switch should reverse the polarity of the swing motor.
