Instructions

Step 1

By default, in modern operating systems (OS), the touchpad is installed automatically along with the rest of the device drivers. It is well defined by the latest Windows 7 and 8 and can be used immediately after installing the system. However, standard drivers are not always able to function stably, and therefore it is recommended to install additional software packages to work with the touch panel.

Step 2

After installing the system, insert the driver disc into the drive of your laptop and run the software installation utility using the menu that appears after the disc starts. If your computer does not have a disk drive, go to the device manufacturer's website and find the appropriate driver package in the customer support section or in the Service section of the website page.

Step 3

In the list of drivers provided, select Touchpad and download the archive with the software. If the site contains only a disk image for download, the volume of which can exceed 1 GB, you can return to the page with the list of equipment and find an identifier with the name of your device. You can copy this name, and then use the Internet search to download the desired software package.

Step 4

Unzip the received drivers by right-clicking on the file and selecting "Extract". Run the unpacked executable file to complete the installation and follow the instructions on the screen to complete it. Restart your computer and check if the touchpad is working properly.

Step 5

To customize the touchpad, right-click on the touchpad icon located in the Windows tray at the bottom of the Start menu. Select the Settings section, which you can also use to adjust the speed of movement of the Windows pointer and the effects when using it.

Step 6

Alternatively, you can use the standard settings menu "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Hardware and Sound" - "Mouse". Adjust the desired options according to the comments on the screen and click "OK" to apply the changes.
