Internet communication programs such as Skype are very popular. Fujitsu Amilo owners can simply turn on their laptop's camera to get an immersive conversation with a friend or hold a video conference.
Instructions
Step 1
Hold down the special Fn key and press the F7 key (in the top row of the keyboard) that has a camera drawn on it. The computer will notify you when the camera is turned on by displaying a picture labeled “On” or On.
Step 2
The camera should automatically turn on when you start any video chatting program. For example, if you have Skype on your PC, launch it and click on any name from your contact list. After that, open the "Calls" menu in the top menu, select "Video" and click on the "Video Settings" item. You will see yourself on the screen under the "Select webcam" caption.
Step 3
If the camera does not turn on automatically, turn it on in the Control Panel or by opening its program. Open Start, then All Programs. Find the folder with your camera in the list of folders.
Step 4
Often, laptops have a simple CyberLink YouCam program installed, which is located in the folder of the same name. Open the folder by clicking on it. Click on the camera icon, and the PC will display the program interface. In the window that opens, you will see your face as the camera will automatically turn on.
Step 5
Turn on the webcam on your laptop using Device Manager. Open the Start menu, click on Control Panel and open Device Manager by clicking on it. Expand the Imaging Devices section - this is usually the last section. There you will see the inscription WebCam or "Unknown device"; right-click on it and select "Enable" from the menu.
Step 6
If the camera does not start using the program, and it turns on in the device manager, install the drivers from the manufacturer's official website. Select Notebooks in the small menu by clicking on the inscription, then your series (Amilo or Amilo Pro) and the laptop model. After that, specify the type of OS installed on your laptop and download the required driver. Install the drivers and restart your computer. Then turn on the camera again.
Step 7
If you are using a standalone camera instead of the built-in one with your laptop, turn it on using the button on the camera itself. If there is no such button on the camera body, turn it on in any way. Install the purchased camera drivers for it to work correctly.
Step 8
Change the webcam in your chat software. For example, for Skype, go to your account and select any interlocutor (it doesn't matter if he is online or not). In the top menu, click Calls → Video → Video Settings. Above the small screen with your video, you will see the inscription "Select video camera". Select the connected offline camera from the list and save the changes.
