Mobile phones with video communication function are equipped with front cameras. Also, such a camera can be used to shoot a self-portrait. In some modes it turns on automatically, in others it will need to be turned on manually.

Instructions

Step 1

To make a video call, first subscribe to such a service from the operator (if available). Then dial the number of the interlocutor (his device must also support this service, and it must be connected). But do not press the call button. Instead, press the left soft key, which at this point will be called "Functions". Select an item in the menu called "Video Call" or similar (it depends on the phone model). While talking, point the front camera towards you - it will turn on automatically. If the other person does the same, you will see him on the screen. Since there is no point in bringing the phone to your ear in video call mode (you will not be able to use either the screen or the camera), you will have to turn on the speakerphone or connect a headset.

Step 2

If you want to reduce the cost of video calls, install the Skype program on your phone (if it is available for your model of the device, but not installed on it in advance). Configure the access point (APN) correctly: its name should start with the word internet, but never wap. Register on the Skype website and receive a username and password. After running the program, enter them. Add the nicknames of the interlocutors to the contact list. Choose one of them and call him. The front camera will turn on automatically as in the previous case.

Step 3

To take a selfie with the front camera, first launch the Camera app on your phone. In some devices, you need to hold down the shutter button for a long time, in others you just need to press it (with the keyboard unlocked), in others - find the corresponding item in the menu (for example, "Applications" - "Camera"). Immediately after that, a picture will appear on the screen, taken by the main (rear) camera of the phone. To turn on the front camera instead, press the left soft key, and then select the "Second camera" item in the menu (it can be called differently). Aim the device at yourself at the desired angle and from the desired distance, then take a picture by pressing the shutter release button (in some phones, you should not press it slightly, but press it all the way, and sometimes hold it down for about a second). After taking a self-portrait, do not forget to then switch the mode back by choosing "Main Camera" from the menu.
