Why RP mode in SAMP became popular
The most enjoyable and beloved by gamers mode of playing in SAMP is RP, or Role Play (role-playing). The peculiarity of this mode is that it fits perfectly and was well developed in GTA San Andreas - a game that is not based on the role-playing component.
Another reason for the popularity of the RP mode is that at the time of the release of GTA San Andreas and the San Andreas MultiPlayer add-on, many game developers were creating mostly shooters. That is, there were a lot of them, so many gamers missed some RPG component. Actually, it is for this reason that many users chose RP mode and spent several hours playing the game.
If everything is clear with the mode and everyone is familiar with RPG games, then what is the essence of the mechanics of RP servers on which you need to play roles?
As it turns out, the Role Play mode is some of the game conditions in GTA SA. That is, the game world of the great car thief will be exactly the same as in the original version, but in the Role Play mode, the server and developers create some laws, restrictions and frameworks, as well as almost several hundred other important details that are responsible for the functioning of the game server.
In RP mode, a person, appearing on the server for the first time, receives a character, a certificate, and then gets a job and begins to play the chosen role.
At the same time, the character under the command of the user can simply work and live on a salary, can strive to climb up the career, create a business, and so on. And the choice is not limited to this - you can become a policeman, take the path of an unlawful person, or simply go into a hermit. That is, life on any server, if it is popular enough, continues and boils even today, despite the fact that many years have passed since the release of GTA SA.
Features of interaction between users
Today there are a large number of game projects based on or with a multiplayer mode function. And in many of these projects, you can communicate via a microphone, and communication can occur between team members or between all users of the game, if we are talking about a role-playing project.
However, in GTA, all this is not used, and instead of the microphones and voice chats familiar today, GTA SAMP provides for communication using in-game chat. In it, players can talk to each other and carry out numerous in-game actions. And each of these actions, from choosing a job to buying clothes in the nearest store, are certain commands that the user must enter at a certain moment.
However, in the case of RP, there is a very important point to which you should pay attention - on any SAMP server that implements the ability to communicate and play its role, there is a fairly strict distinction between notRP and RP messages.
In the event that the user writes something on behalf of his own character, he does not have to worry about adding additional letters or symbols, because the game chat is a place where communication between role characters takes place. And any message that has no additional characters or abbreviations is an RP message.
But what then are notRP messages? This is all that the player wants to say exactly as a person, and not as a game character. In this case, it is necessary to enclose the message from the person in double brackets, that is, make it like this: ((text)).
What does metagaming sump mean?
So, in GTA SAMP there are a large number of very different messages and terms, and the most commonly used among users in RP mode is Metagaming, or MG. What is Metagaming?
The term Metagaming refers to all those messages that are not sent in a standard form. That is, in the event that a user sends messages to a public or private chat not from his character, but from himself, but has not enclosed such messages in brackets, such messages are denoted by the MG definition.
It should be noted that this aspect of messages between users is strictly controlled by the administration of the game service, and all those users who violate the rules of communication are punished by the administrators or moderators of the service.
Other abbreviations used in GTA SAMP
Of course, in the game GTA SAMP, users also use many other symbols and commands, which must be familiarized with before playing SAMP. For example, there is a PK command, in which the user will return to the same place in which his character was destroyed. There is also the term BH, and this is the technique that is allowed to be used in notRP game modes. What other terms are used on the various GTA SAMP servers and what do they mean to users?
Here are the most common commands in the gaming universe:
- DM - killing another GTA SAMP character for no reason.
- DB - killing another character with a car or a character in the car.
- TK - killing members of your squad.
- RP is a game mode in GTA SAMP, within which each user must practice the chosen role.
- MG - the use of any information and data from the real world within the game server and chat.
- GM - turn on god mode.
- PG - the character's portrayal of the hero from himself. For example, this concept can be prescribed by the person who, having no weapons, will go to another person with weapons.
- RK - the return of the hero exactly to the place where he was killed.
- BC - accelerated run of the user with large jumps.
It should be noted that all the terms listed above must be written in brackets only. On some servers, such brackets are written by pressing a certain key or indicated by quotation marks . These are the basic rules on which the correspondence between users is guided.
Also on the servers there are definitions of the Criminal Code (Criminal Code), AK (Academic Code) and ЗЗ (Green Zone). It is strictly forbidden to shoot in the green zone. In GTA SAMP, these can be hospitals, the area near the city hall, train stations, and other places.
Possible penalties for users
Any game server has its own rules, and the specifics of using the term metagaming are no exception. Therefore, for any of the violations of the user will be punished by the administrator.
An administrator is a character whose main responsibilities include adherence to server rules. He also issues the following punishments:
- Ban is a punishment, after the implementation of which the game character is unable to continue the game. At the same time, it is forbidden for a person to play until the ban is removed or until its term expires.
- Varn is a punishment in which the user is simply kicked out of the organization. At the same time, he will no longer be able to join this organization or any other flesh organization until the expiration of the varna.
- Kick is the simplest punishment expressed in the player's departure from the game session.
- Chat ban - chat restriction for an individual player who violated the rules.
- Fort DeMorgan is a kind of punishment, expressed in the imprisonment of the user at a military base. The peculiarity is that the playable character will not be able to choose from it.
Of course, many expressions can be a complete nonsense for uneducated users, but those who play on RP and other servers know that they all mean something and are used to interact with other players and the game world as a whole.
