Tuner firmware is understood as the process of installing the encoding emulator program and other add-ons in it that contribute to its better work. It serves to increase the list of received satellite TV channels by adding coded channels to it. During the firmware, the emulator programs, settings and installations of the satellite TV system are additionally added to the main software.
It is necessary
RS-232 cable, bootloader program, firmware file
Instructions
Step 1
Check in the menu of the satellite receiver the brand of the processor on which it is made. To do this, go to the “system information” section in the tuner menu (the name depends on the satellite tuner model). You can also do this by opening the satellite tuner and looking at the processor labeling, but after that the product warranty is canceled.
Step 2
Download the required software (software and firmware). To do this, in an Internet search engine or on the website of the tuner manufacturer, find the latest firmware and bootloader. This program helps to download the firmware to the satellite tuner and vice versa from the receiver to the computer to save the data. The new firmware in its name mentions the brand of the satellite processor. You should carefully look at the labeling of the program and 100% coincidence with the name of the receiver, as otherwise the device may be damaged. Therefore, in the search engine, enter the brand of the processor of the satellite tuner.
Step 3
Disconnect the satellite receiver from the mains (from a 220 V socket), otherwise it can be damaged when connected to a computer or the computer itself. Take a null modem cable and connect it to the COM port (RS-232) of your computer and receiver.
Step 4
Run the program to flash the satellite tuner. Set the required COM port (brute force). Load the firmware file into the program. Press the start button.
Step 5
Connect the satellite receiver to a 220 V socket. Wait until the end of the firmware until the message "firmware is over" appears on the screen. Unplug the tuner from the 220V outlet. The null modem cable can be disconnected from the computer only after the satellite receiver has been disconnected from the 220V network.
