Buying a satellite dish and including a TV, you may not find the channels that you would like to watch. This means that your receiver is not tuned to them. A satellite tuner is a common digital device for signal input and output. For comfortable viewing, you need to install special software (firmware) on it, corresponding to your receiver model.
Necessary
- - AutoArioner program;
- - null modem cable;
- - Ariter 2 software;
- - computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare for the flashing process a satellite receiver, a cable for connecting to a PC (null-modem) and a special software for flashing. If you don't have one, go to the hardware manufacturer's website and download the latest version. Please note that each receiver model requires its own firmware.
Step 2
Start a program such as AutoArioner. Connect the satellite tuner (receiver) to your computer using a special cable. Then enter the special code using the tuner remote control to set it to the “Soft” position. If you did everything correctly, the program will determine your receiver model and the firmware version installed on it. Then disconnect the receiver from the 220 V power supply, unplug the plug from the socket. After that, in the AutoArioner program, click on the "open" window and select the appropriate firmware file. Now act quickly. As soon as the file for the firmware is selected, then within 10-15 seconds, resume the receiver's power supply. If you do everything correctly, the software upload process will take place, and the receiver will show 8888 on the display. As the process is over, it will go into Stand by mode.
Step 3
Upload the channel list to the satellite tuner. To do this, use the Ariter 2 program. You can either download the channel list on the Internet, or drop the existing list from the receiver before flashing it, and then install it back. To do this, the first thing is to put the tuner into Stand by mode. Second, connect the receiver to your PC using a cable. Third - open the Ariter 2 program, click Tools in it and select the port through which you connected the tuner to the PC.
Step 4
Set the receiver to the “ready for transmission of all channel settings and their lists to the PC” mode with the remote control, the entered code differs for different models of receivers. If it is entered correctly, “data” will appear on the front panel of the tuner. In the program, in the SEND / RECEIVE menu, select the Receive from STB item. Save the channels to your PC. To fill the channels back to the receiver, then do steps 1-3. Then enter the code from the remote control, putting the tuner in the tuner ready to receive data. Then in Ariter 2, in the SEND / RECEIVE menu, select Send to STB. As the download is finished, a window will appear notifying about the successful filling.
