The password on the router needs to be changed to keep your Wi-Fi connection secure. The password is changed using the system settings of the device itself in accordance with the instructions for using the router through the corresponding section of the interface menu.
Instructions
Step 1
To change the password, you will need to access the admin panel of the router. If you have previously performed self-configuration of the router, you can immediately open a browser window and enter the IP address in the address bar, which is used to access the control panel. If you are editing the device configuration for the first time, read the instructions for use for the device, where the IP must be specified to access the device settings utility.

If you cannot find the manual, you can also look at the web configurator address, which is indicated by some manufacturers, on a special sticker on the bottom of the device with the model identifier. Most routers use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 for configuration, but this address can be changed depending on the device model.
Step 3
Log in to the administrator account by specifying the appropriate login and password to access the panel. If you have not previously configured your router, enter the parameters that are indicated in the instructions for use or printed on the bottom of the device.

You will see a menu for managing adapter settings. The main screen will display the main parameters of the connection used. To change the password, you need to go to the Wi-Fi section or "Wi-Fi settings" or "Wireless network settings".
Step 5
Go to the "Security" or "Password" section. On the right side of the page window, fill in the fields provided. In the Authentication Type section, you can select the standard WPA2-PSK. Enter your old password in the line below. In the lower lines, specify the character set for the new password.

Confirm the information entered by clicking on the "Save" or "Apply" button. Password change is complete. You can close the browser window and then reconnect to the AP in use with a new password.
