Restoring the D-Link DIR-300 router is performed to return to the factory settings and reset all changed parameters. Recovery should be resorted to if the router is malfunctioning and the Internet connection becomes unstable over time.
Necessary
- - WAN cable;
- - DIR-300 firmware.
Instructions
Step 1
Recovery is also often resorted to if difficulties arose during the flashing process and the device software malfunctioned. Before the DIR-300 recovery procedure, first press the device reset button located on the rear panel of the device. Hold the key for about 15 seconds while the router is powered on.
Step 2
Download the latest firmware from the official FTP server of the D-Link manufacturer. Choose the most recent program, as it usually fixes the bugs of previous firmware, which will help you achieve more stable use of the router.
Step 3
Connect the WAN port of the router to the computer's network card using the appropriate slots in the equipment and the cable that came with the device. The WAN port is highlighted on the router on the left side of the device. When connecting, do not remove the power from the router from the outlet.
Step 4
On your computer, go to "Start" - "Control Panel" - "Network" - "Change adapter settings". Select the "Local Area Connection" section with the right mouse button, and then click "Properties". Click on the line "IPv4" and click on the "Properties" button. Enter 192.168.20.80 in the IP address field. For the Subnet Mask section, enter 255.255.255.0. Click "Ok".
Step 5
In the address bar of your browser, enter the address 192.168.20.81, but do not press Enter to go. Hold down the Reset button on the router and do not release it. Disconnect the power to the device from the mains, while continuing to hold Reset for about 20 seconds.
Step 6
Press the Enter button in the address bar with the entered address. The Emergency Web Server will appear in front of you. Release Reset and click the Browse button, and then specify the path to the previously saved firmware file. Click Upload and wait for the flashing process to complete. The recovery procedure will be completed in a few minutes. You should now be able to proceed to setting up your wireless connection.
