Step 1

If the FM receiver is equipped with a telescopic antenna, and its capabilities are not enough, take a piece of insulated wire two meters long, strip it about 5 mm from one side, tin and solder to the crocodile clip. Straighten the wire and slide the clip over the telescopic antenna (it should be rolled up). By changing the position of such an antenna, achieve good reception.

Step 2

Quite good results can be achieved by using a television antenna together with an FM receiver (it is obligatory to be indoor and without an amplifier). Connect the central contact of the plug to the telescopic antenna and the ring contact to the common wire of the receiver. If there is no indoor antenna, but only a collective antenna, wind about 20 turns of wire around the insulation of the coaxial cable, connect one end of which to the telescopic antenna of the receiver, and do not connect the other anywhere.

Step 3

Musical centers are designed to connect a dipole-type FM antenna. Unlike the AM loop antenna, which has separate terminals, the FM dipole is often lost. If this happens, take two pieces of wire of the same length (about one and a half meters) and connect to each of the terminals along a wire. Achieve the best reception by changing the position of these conductors in space.

Step 4

You can also connect a television antenna to the music center (indoor and without an amplifier), but in this case it will have to be matched by the characteristic impedance. At the center it is 300 ohms, and at the antenna it is 75. If the TV antenna has a flat cable that connects to the TV through a matching transformer, remove the latter, and then connect the cable directly to the center.

Step 5

The same transformer can also be used to match the center of a television antenna with a conventional plug, but then it will have to be turned on "vice versa" so that it converts not a 300-ohm characteristic impedance into a 75-ohm one, but back. To do this, use the primary winding of the transformer as the secondary, and the secondary as the primary.
