Yesterday he was your permanent assistant. I put on paper everything that was needed. And today the color is not the same, and the print quality is far from ideal. It looks like your printer has run out of ink and now there is an urgent need to replace the cartridge.

The classification of printers is as follows:

- matrix, - inkjet, - laser.

In addition, the printers are available in black and white or color. The most widespread today are inkjet printers with color printing and laser printers with black and white or color printing.

Replacing inkjet cartridges

In inkjet printers, cartridges are small parallelepipeds with markings and ink colors on the top. To exchange used cartridges for new ones, you must:

1. Open the printer cover that hides the cartridges;

2. Remove the used cartridges following the instructions shown on the inside of the cover (it indicates which edge to pull to release the cartridge from the grooves);

3. Remove new cartridges from the packaging, remove the protective film from the metal contacts (it usually says "Remove before use" or "Remove");

4. Install the cartridges, observing the color distribution system (inserting incorrectly will not work, since each cartridge has a kind of "key" - an individual mounting system);

5. Close the cover.

If the manufacturer provides for refilling inkjet cartridges using a syringe and ink, remove the used cartridge, insert the syringe into the specially provided opening and inject ink. Then shake the cartridge several times and replace it.

Use original cartridges from the manufacturer, as analog cartridges often degrade print quality, damage the printer, or void your warranty.

Replacing a toner cartridge in a laser printer

Laser printer cartridges are larger than inkjet cartridges, have the shape of a rectangle with rounded edges and many grooves and on the surface. You can spot the toner cartridge in a laser printer as follows:

1. Open the printer cover.

2. Gently pull the handle of the toner cartridge, provided on the body, up and toward you (the cartridge moves along the special guide rails). If toner spills, wash it off with cold water and with a damp cloth.

3. Take the new toner cartridge out of the package, remove the protective film (labeled “Remove” or “Remove”).

4. Shake the cartridge horizontally several times.

5. Insert the cartridge into the tray, do not press, the cartridge, correctly hitting the guides, easily falls into place.

6. Close the printer cover.

It is possible to fill toner cartridges with a special composition, but it is not recommended to do this at home, as the toner enters the body through the respiratory tract and can harm health.
