MegaFon-Modem is a set for wireless access to the network from home, office, car, cafe or any other place where there is a cellular connection. Thanks to EDGE technology, the Internet connection speed in MegaFon-Modem reaches 200 Kbps. The set from Megafon includes a modem or PC-card, a SIM card with a special tariff plan, a CD-disk with drivers and a program for connecting to the Internet, instructions for setting up equipment. To connect the Internet via MegaFon-Modem, you need to perform a few simple steps.

Instructions
Step 1
Insert the SIM card, with the metal contacts facing down, into the corresponding slot on the modem or PC card. If your kit from Megafon includes a PC card, then connect the antenna to it.
Step 2
Place the CD in your computer's drive. Wait for the Wireless Manager installer to automatically download and follow the system prompts to complete adding the software to the hard drive.
Step 3
Install the modem or PC card into the desired slot on your computer. Wait for a notification about the successful installation of drivers for the new device.
Step 4
Open the installed program to connect the modem or PC card to the network. If you need to specify a PIN, then enter it in the appropriate field.
Step 5
Wait for the radio signal strength indicator and operator name to appear in the Wireless Manager window. Click on the image of the "magic wand".
Step 6
In the window that appears, check the box next to "Create a new connection", write the name of the new connection and click the "Next" button.
Step 7
Set GPRS / EDGE as the data connection type. Select "Megafon" from the list of available operators located at the bottom of the screen. In case the required Internet service provider is absent in this list, mark the line “Other”. Click Next.
Step 8
Check that the access point is the GPRS / EDGE entry and click the Next button again. If necessary, in the form that appears, enter the username and password to access the network. To create a connection without using this data, just leave the fields blank. Click Next.
Step 9
To enter additional parameters required for network access, select the "Advanced" item in the "Access Point" section. Enter the access point address, DNS address, login and password provided by the operator.
Step 10
Click the Finish button to complete the creation of the new connection. To access the Internet, select the type of connection from the list on the screen and click the "Connect" button.
