If you want your music to sound not only loud, but also high quality in your car, you need an active subwoofer. It will immediately expand the sound range, add low frequencies and, of course, volume. If you decide to connect it yourself, get ready to tinker.
Instructions
Step 1
Remove your car radio. See if it has line outputs right away. If so, consider yourself lucky. You will have the opportunity to optimally configure the pairing of the subwoofer with the speakers. If there are no line outputs, then it will be more difficult to connect it, and you will have to configure it from the trunk, which is not very convenient. As a rule, active subwoofers are installed in the trunk of a car. This is due to the size of this device. You will not be able to place it in the cabin without losing usable space, so immediately concentrate on the trunk. Lead there the control wire from the radio, power plus, and also make power minus.
Step 2
Take a stranded power cable of a suitable length. You will need it to make a negative wire and, accordingly, connect a subwoofer without line outputs. The cable cross-section must be at least 6 square millimeters. You can buy it at any car market. Find the bolt screwed to the body.
Step 3
Strip it off the paint so that there is good metal-to-metal contact. Wind one turn of the power cable around this bolt. Then tighten the bolt firmly so that the cable is securely clamped. This very simple design will represent the power minus that will be used to connect the subwoofer.
Step 4
Take another power wire with a cross section of at least 6 square millimeters. It will be needed in order to make a power plus. Pull it all the way through the passenger compartment into the trunk of your car. There should be a small opening in the bulkhead between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment. If not, take a drill and drill.
Step 5
Insert the wire into the hole, after putting the rubber grommet on it. It is needed in order to protect the cable insulation from chafing. Connect it to the positive terminal of the battery. Take plastic clamps. Use them to secure the wire along the entire length of the contact. Cut the fuse holder into the power cable near the positive terminal of the battery.
Step 6
If there are no line outputs, use the high-amplitude inputs of the built-in amplifier. Connect the control cable to the subwoofer. Connect the high-amplitude input jack to the speaker system. Remember to observe the polarity. Run the signal and control wires into the trunk into the trunk where the built-in amplifier connector is connected.
Step 7
Review the connection diagram. In accordance with it, make all the commutation. Then adjust the sound. After the setup is complete, return the radio to its original place and secure the subwoofer.
