Navigators are quite useful to use: they can easily orient you on the terrain and show you the way to any place on the map, quickly plotting a route. However, if you already have a GPS receiver, you do not need to buy a navigator.
Instructions
Step 1
In this case, you need to connect the gps receiver to a computer or PDA with a Bluetooth transmitter. Activate the bluetooth service on your PDA or computer. To do this, go to the menu that is responsible for the Bluetooth settings, and click on the "Enable" or "Activate" button. Search for devices and add the gps receiver to the found devices to connect to.
Step 2
Configure the COM port for the navigation software so that it can recognize the connected GPS receiver. To do this, you need to create a virtual COM port, which will actually connect the navigation program to a bluetooth receiver.
Step 3
Configure the COM port of your PDA. To do this, enter the port name and the used speed value. So for the Asus A632 or A636 PDA, the settings are: COM 5 and speed 4800; for PDA FS N500, N520 and N560 - COM 8 and 9600; for HP rx5730 - COM 7 and 9600. You can find the settings for your PDA on the Internet.
Step 4
If you are using a computer or PDA, the GPSinfo utility (it can be found in the receiver package) will help you. Install this utility into the operating system of your computer or PDA, then launch it and click on the Scan COM-ports button. The utility will check the existing COM ports and indicate the port for the receiver.
Step 5
The GPSinfo utility also has the ability to diagnose the operation of your gps receiver. If the diagnostics were successful, launch the navigation program and go to the settings to indicate the connected receiver. If you do not have this software available, you can find it at spaces.ru. As a rule, it is not difficult to turn on the gps-receiver, since all the default settings are set in the communicator.
