Step 1
First, assemble and place the antenna. Install its stand strictly vertically. To do this, use a building level. If the antenna has a ring, then it should also be placed horizontally.
Step 2
Calculate the angle at which the satellite is visible. The elevation angle is the tilt at which the antenna vertically looks towards the satellite. Use a plumb bob and a school protractor to position the antenna mirror. City coordinates can be found on many sites on the Internet.
Step 3
Next, set up the satellite receiver. Go to "Menu" - "Settings", click "Search for channels", and then "Antenna settings". In the Local oscillator frequency field, enter 5150.
Step 4
In the name of the satellite, write any word. It is not necessary to insert the depolarizer into the converter, since it is not known in what position it should be. A strong transponder is accepted without it. Then click OK.
Step 5
Enter baud rate 28000, transponder frequency 3645, FEC ¾ and press OK again.
Step 6
The receiver will try to find channels but will not find them. This is necessary in order for a digital signal quality scale and a scale that measures the analog level to appear. In some receivers, you need to press the Exit button, go to the terminal parameters and find the signal control. If the antenna is not tuned to a satellite, both scales will show.
Step 7
Now smoothly rotate the antenna in azimuth. As soon as it hits the satellite, the analog level will start to rise, and quality will appear on the second scale.
Step 8
Adjust the antenna vertically and horizontally to obtain the best possible signal quality. Next, find the list of frequencies of the Yamal satellite on the Internet, set up the terminal and enjoy your favorite channels.
