Even a licensed stereoscopic DVD is cheaper than a one-person movie ticket. The whole family will be able to watch the stereo movie on disc an unlimited number of times on a regular TV - and also in 3D.

Instructions

Step 1

Before purchasing a disc, make sure that the stereoscopic movie recorded on it is compatible with your TV. If the Pulfrich effect or anaglyph system is used, any TV can be used (in the second case, it must be in color, but it can use any display technology), and one pair of glasses of the corresponding type is included in the package of the disc. If the film is designed to use shutter glasses, the TV must be CRT (of the LCD, few will do that have a short response time or are specially designed for watching stereophiles), and if it is designed for the use of polarizing glasses, only a special TV that is compatible with such glasses will do. Shutter and polarizing glasses are not included in the delivery set of the discs. TVs with lenticular screens do not require glasses.

Step 2

In case the film uses the Pulfrich effect or the anaglyph system, only one pair of glasses is included with the disc. To watch a movie with the whole family, you will have to purchase or make additional pairs of glasses. Please note that some anaglyph glasses are red-blue, others are red-green. Additional pairs of glasses must use the same color combination and arrangement as the regular ones, so when going to the store for them, take the regular glasses with you. When making additional pairs yourself, use only saturated filters.

Step 3

Additional pairs of glasses are not available for watching movies using the Pulfrich effect. You can make them from unnecessary sunscreens. They shouldn't be too dark. Look at which side of the standard stereo glasses there is a filter, and leave the glass on the same side of the sunglasses, and remove the glass on the opposite side.

Step 4

Stereo shutter glasses are usually supplied with the TV in the amount of one or two pairs. They are connected to the device either by cable, or by infrared or radio channel. For the rest of the family to watch the movie, purchase additional pairs of glasses separately. If they are wired, first make sure that the device provides the ability to connect them. It is impossible to make such glasses on your own, but not for the reason that they are complexly arranged, but because the components for their manufacture are not sold separately.

When purchasing shutter glasses for use with a regular TV, make sure that it is a CRT (or LCD with a short response time), and that the glasses themselves are designed specifically for the TV, and not for the computer.

Step 5

If your TV is designed to use polarized stereo glasses, it is also usually completed with one or two pairs of them. If you cannot purchase additional pairs, make them yourself. At a laptop repair shop, ask for a broken screen from a laptop. Carefully remove the polarizer from the screen, so as not to cut yourself by debris, and then remove the glue from it with alcohol. Direct the regular TV glasses at a regular LCD monitor, and see what apparent colors they acquire when the frame is horizontally positioned. Cut out two filters from the polarizer, install them in the frame, and then orient them so that they acquire the same apparent colors when it is horizontal.

Step 6

If you wear prescription glasses, place them under stereo glasses when viewing.

Step 7

When watching a movie on a TV with a lenticular screen, do not use special glasses (only glasses with diopters, if any), and keep your head strictly vertical.
