Videos and films are increasingly being distributed digitally. However, viewing digital content can sometimes be problematic. To play video stored on a flash drive, the TV must have a built-in USB port and installed codecs. Or you will need to connect a special device to the TV to play files from a flash drive.
It is necessary
TV with built-in USB port or USB media player
Instructions
Step 1
Insert the flash drive into the USB port on the TV. The USB slot is usually located on the back of the TV and is no different from a USB slot on a computer. Make sure the USB stick is fully connected to the TV, as a poor connection will prevent the TV from opening the drive.
Step 2
Turn on the TV and select the USB input. TVs with multiple connectivity options, such as HDMI and VGA, have different input options that allow you to easily switch between connected devices. The contents of the USB storage will not be displayed if the TV does not have a USB input. To connect a USB stick to such a TV, go to the next step.
Step 3
Buy a USB media player for your TV, such as Western Digital TV Live Hub, NBox TV Media Player, or CVJI-E50 SD Card + USB Media Player for TV.
Step 4
Connect the power cable to the USB media player and the other end of the cord to a power outlet. Connect your media player to your TV using the supplied composite or component cable, or using a commercially available HDMI cable.
Step 5
Insert the USB flash drive with video files into the USB port of the media player.
Step 6
Turn on your TV and set it to the input you use to connect your media player. Use the remote control to navigate to the Videos or Movies section (depending on the device) and press the Enter button to view the list of video files.
Step 7
Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list of video files. Highlight the video you want to watch and press Enter on the remote to start playback.
