With daily use of an inkjet printer, the ink in the cartridge will gradually run out. It can be a shame when they end on the last pages of your term paper or diploma. This is usually the case. If you do not refill the cartridges yourself, refilling a new cartridge or refilling an old cartridge will take both time and money. To avoid this awkward situation in the future, make it a rule to periodically check the amount of ink in the cartridge. And how to do it, read on.

Checking ink using software
Instructions
Step 1
If you think you should disassemble a cartridge and see how much ink is left, you are deeply mistaken. There are cases when personal computer users took an empty cartridge and their own, and then weighed it on a medical scale. All these methods cannot display the real picture of the state of the ink in the cartridge, because disassembling the cartridge, you will break it, and weighing on the scales will be inaccurate for many reasons.
Step 2
To know exactly how much ink remains, and how many pages you can still count on, you need to use software to check these values. The earliest sign that ink will soon run out is a fuzzy print of the entire page or portions of it. The sheet may contain light streaks, which indicate printing problems.
Step 3
The second sign that your cartridge is low on ink will be the intermittent blinking of the Power On or Printer Status button. This case is already critical, which means that there is practically no ink left as such. In this case, you can count on just a few print pages.
Step 4
In order not to determine the amount of ink by the above criteria, you must use the software that was installed when the printer was connected. Typically, a program is already built into the printer driver that monitors the amount of ink. When printing starts, the Print Status window appears. This window contains information about the printed document and ink status.
