According to statistics, every fifth iPhone owner dropped it into water at least once. This happens most often in the toilet, but it can happen anywhere else. It is not at all necessary to immediately "bury the drowned man", if you act quickly and correctly, it is quite possible that the iPhone 5 will continue to work after drowning as if nothing had happened.

Most often, iPhones fall into the water, the owners of which have the habit of carrying them in the pockets of their pants, especially in the back. The phones that have fallen into the hands of young children also get a hit. Kids aged 2-3 years willingly play with modern technology, especially since the parents themselves upload toys and cartoons to the iPhone to keep the fidget busy at least for a few minutes. Unfortunately, not everyone is looking after the child, which, due to curiosity or simply out of boredom, can send a boring toy to the toilet.

Whatever it was and no matter how the iPhone 5 got into the water, the actions to rescue it should be quick, and their goal is to remove water from the device before it has time to cause irreparable damage to the device.

A dropped iPhone 5 must be immediately removed from the water and turned off immediately, even if it continues to work as if nothing had happened. In an ordinary phone, it would be advisable to remove the battery in order to exclude the possibility of a short circuit, but with an iPhone, the task becomes more complicated, because without disassembling the phone, this will not work. And self-opening of the case, whatever one may say, will lead to the disappearance of the guarantee. Therefore, you will have to dry it as it is, removing only the SIM card.

It should be remembered that a drowned iPhone should never be sent to dry in a heated oven, microwave, or even a central heating battery. This method will turn from salvation into a guaranteed killing of complex equipment. High temperatures and the resulting water condensation will lead to the oxidation of the metal on the microcircuits, such a phone will never work again. It is also unlikely that it will be possible to achieve any significant effect with the help of a hair dryer. Hot air will hardly be able to penetrate into the small holes of the iPhone, but it will not find a way out at all, there will be practically no effect from such drying.

But there is a way to dry a drowned iPhone 5 and it is simple, like everything ingenious. You should take a dense plastic bag with a fastener, pour about half a kilogram of ordinary raw rice into it, bury the iPhone in cereal and leave it for 2-3 days.

Over time, you can turn on the phone in the hope that it will still work. If this did not happen, all that remains is to take the iPhone to the workshop and listen to the harsh sentence. In the best case, you will need to replace the failed part, in the worst case, you will have to say goodbye to the device forever. Therefore, you should not rely on luck, but it is better to initially take all precautions against the possible fall of the iPhone into the water.
