Step 1
Prepare the machine for mounting the acoustic shelf. Route the speaker wires to the rear of the car before installing the acoustic shelf. Run the wires along the floor along the tunnel on opposite sides of it. Next, mark the speaker holes on the body shelf.
Step 2
To widen the stereo base, select the hole locations so that they are as far away from the center as possible to the C-pillars. After that, cut out the holes, for this you need to dismantle the glass. Take scissors for metal, drill holes with a drill, cut along the line with scissors. Glue all this with vibroplast.
Step 3
Place the shelf template, use the decorative upholstery of the rear shelf as a template. Use a ruler and tape measure, try on and resize it, mark the holes for the speakers. Be extremely careful when marking, you will always have time to trim.
Step 4
Cut the second sheet according to the pattern of the first. Next, glue both sheets, glue both sheets with glue, as a result you will get a monolithic board, and its thickness will be about 15 mm. Apply something firm but deformable to the underside of the shelf, this will ensure that the acoustic shelf fits snugly against the body, use a Macroflex to do this.
Step 5
Squeeze the macroflex into a container of water, stir it with a spatula, apply it to the shelf. The soaked material becomes very strong after curing. After it has hardened, trim it with a knife to adjust the position of the acoustic shelf.
Step 6
Next, sheathe the shelf with a carpet, install it in place. Cut the carpet to the size and shape of the shelf, add five centimeters to each edge. Fold the edges of the fabric, attach to the ends of the shelves with a gun and staples. Thus, you can make an acoustic shelf for your car with your own hands.
