The Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) is required to be able to detect which iPhone or iPad is being used by iTunes, which is a prerequisite for the sync operation.
Instructions
Step 1
Quit iTunes and disconnect your mobile device from your computer to initiate the Apple Mobile Device Service startup.
Step 2
Call the main menu of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system and go to the "Control Panel" item.
Step 3
Open the "Administration" node by double-clicking the mouse and select the "Management" item.
Step 4
Go to Computer Management and select Services.
Step 5
Find the line Apple Mobile Device in the directory on the right side of the window that opens and use the "Start service" option in the taskbar.
Step 6
Call the context menu of the Apple mobile devices service by right-clicking and selecting the "Properties" item to change the startup parameters of the selected service.
Step 7
Go to the "General" tab of the properties dialog box that opens and select the "Auto" command in the drop-down list of the "Startup type" field.
Step 8
Click OK to confirm your choice and restart your computer to apply the selected changes (for Windows XP).
Step 9
Call the main menu of the operating system Microsoft Windows Vista or Microsoft Windows 7 by clicking the "Start" button and specify the value of "services" in the test field of the search string.
Step 10
Click the "Search" button to confirm the execution of the command and select the "Services" item in the "Programs" group of the search results.
Step 11
Find the line Apple Mobile Device in the directory on the right side of the window that opens and use the "Start service" option in the taskbar (for Windows Vista or Windows 7).

Find the line Apple Mobile Device in the directory on the right side of the window that opens and use the "Start service" option in the taskbar (for Windows Vista or Windows 7).
Step 13
Go to the "General" tab of the properties dialog box that opens and select the "Automatic" command in the drop-down list of the "Startup type" field.
Step 14
Click OK to confirm your choice and restart your computer to apply the selected changes (for Windows Vista or Windows 7).
