The built-in speaker is most often called a Speaker and sometimes a Beeper. During the early days of the IBM PC, it was used as the main speaker. They did not listen to musical compositions through it, tk. the sound of the speakers differed greatly in quality from the analogs of our time.

Some motherboards are designed in such a way that when current flows from the power supply, a signal is sent to the built-in speaker, which can be heard when the computer is turned on. Over time, this sound gets boring, and in order to get rid of it, you need to turn off the speaker itself. This can be done both programmatically, in a running operating system, or manually by removing the side cover of the system unit.

To mute the built-in speaker, you need to go to the Device Manager applet. To do this, go to the "Start" menu, right-click on the item "My Computer". Select Properties from the context menu or press the Win + Pause Break keyboard shortcut.
Step 4
In the "System Properties" window that opens, go to the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button. You will see a list of devices that participate in the computer. Click the "View" tab in the top menu, from the list that opens, select the "Show hidden devices" item.

Now click on the "+" in front of the "System devices" section. Select "Built-in Speaker" from the list. Right click on it and activate the "Disable" option.

It is also possible to protect your hearing from speaker signals by editing the registry files. Press the Win + R keyboard shortcut, type Regedit, and then click OK.

In the Registry Recorder window that opens, find the HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Control Panel / Sound branch on the left side of the program. On the right side, find the Beep parameter. If you do not find such a string, create it: right-click in an empty space and select "New", then select "String Parameter" and enter its name Beep.

Double click on the newly created parameter and select No as its value to disable the alarm.
