Step 1

Most compact devices use 2 forms of rechargeable batteries: "finger" and "little finger". Such names for the batteries did not appear by chance, one battery is similar in size to the index finger, the other battery is similar to the little finger (smaller than the previous one). Most likely, you saw them, but did not attach importance to these forms. The scope of "finger" and "little finger" batteries is not limited to household appliances.

Step 2

If you have ever been interested in such batteries, you could not help but notice that the prices for these batteries are much higher than the prices for standard batteries. What's the difference? The rechargeable batteries can be reused, i.e. recharge with a special device. Thus, the life of rechargeable batteries is several times longer, as a result of which the prices for these batteries are so high.

Step 3

When choosing rechargeable batteries, you should pay attention not only to the capacity of the batteries, but also to the type of battery. There are nickel-cadmium batteries (Ni-Cd) and nickel-metal hydride batteries (Ni-Mh). The first type of batteries can work properly at any temperature, but the capacity of such batteries is usually quite low. On the other hand, metal hydride batteries have a higher capacity, but are sensitive to temperature changes. Therefore, it is necessary to choose the battery depending on the weather conditions and the time of year.

Step 4

Above it was said about the charger, without it the permanent life of the batteries is impossible. Most often, the charger comes with batteries (if there are more than 2 of them), but it can also be purchased. When choosing a charger, there are also subtleties. If you are using Duracell rechargeable batteries, for example, look for a charger of the same brand. Do not buy cheap devices for charging batteries, they are not equipped with protection systems for power failure when fully charged and disconnecting the device when the batteries quickly heat up.
