Instructions

Step 1

Purchase a 15-inch LCD monitor. In electronics stores, they long ago gave way to 19-inch ones, so you will have to go for such a purchase to the market where they sell used computers. It will cost you about 1,500 rubles. After bringing your monitor home, remove the stand from the monitor.

Step 2

Choose the right suitcase-diplomat, which will serve as the basis for the design. The main requirement for him is firmness. It must also be deep enough so that the components inside do not crush the monitor.

Step 3

On the cover on the left, fasten the extension cord vertically, and on the right - the monitor with the cables pre-inserted into it. To mount the monitor, use the holes for which the stand was previously attached. If necessary, make an adapter bracket. Drill a hole in the bottom of the cover for the extension cable. Insert the plugs into the extension in advance, and then cover the monitor and extension with a common sheet of plexiglass. Make the racks for this sheet (they must be of the same length) with a hacksaw from fountain pens. Drill holes in the sheet to access the monitor control buttons. To attach any structural elements to the cover and bottom, place the screws so that the head faces the outside.

Step 4

At the bottom of the suitcase, place a special power supply unit with a reduced thickness, as well as a VIA EPIA motherboard or similar. If the bottom of the suitcase is soft, secure it through a sheet of any hard dielectric material. Be sure to lift it slightly with dielectric washers about 4 mm thick. Connect these buttons to the connectors intended for connecting the "Power" and "Reset" buttons. Connect a USB flash drive to one USB connector of this board, which will serve as a boot device. Do not install a regular hard disk and optical drive, as there is little space in the case. Connect the USB hub to another USB connector on the board. Connect a 3G modem or WiFi module to the remaining connectors, if desired.

Step 5

Connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard to the motherboard, and temporarily - an optical drive. Install the OS on a USB flash drive, then turn off the computer power and remove the optical drive.

Step 6

Close the power supply and the motherboard with a second sheet of plexiglass, on which you pre-install the buttons and a USB hub. Route the mouse and keyboard cables out. Make sure that when you close the lid, there is enough space between the first and second plexiglass sheets for permanent storage, then secure the second sheet in the same way as the first.

Step 7

Equip the bottom of the suitcase with feet high enough so that the outward screw heads do not scratch the table.

Step 8

Start the laptop, turn on the boot mode from the USB flash drive in CMOS Setup, and then start using the homemade laptop.
