Data synchronization is performed on mobile devices to copy contacts, messages, notes and browser bookmarks to a computer or an account created on the Internet. The Nokia 5800 smartphone can be synchronized with the Gmail Internet service using the dedicated Mail for Exchange program.

Instructions
Step 1
Download Mail for Exchange from the Ovi app store or any other site that has Symbian utilities. After that, download the utility to the phone using a cable, connecting the device to the computer in flash drive mode.
Step 2
Copy the SYSX file of the program to the smartphone's memory, and then disconnect the phone from the computer and go to the "File manager" section in the device's functions. Find the copied utility, and then run it and install it on your phone.
Step 3
Open the program using the shortcut in the device menu that appeared after installation. The utility will prompt you to fill out a special profile for synchronization.
Step 4
Specify the following parameters in the profile:
Server: m.google.com
Secure connection: Yes
Access point: Internet
Sync while roaming: Yes
Default Port Usage: Yes

Then fill in the details for your account. In the Username field, enter the address of your gmail account (for example, [email protected]). Enter the appropriate password in the "Password" field. You can leave the “Domain” line blank.
Step 6
Specify a schedule for performing data synchronization. So, you can choose the days by which the desired settings will be copied from your account. Also select the options you want to sync. Check the box next to "Save data in phone" if you want the records to be saved on the device after synchronization with the server. It is worth noting that the program often deletes data in the phone during the first synchronization, and therefore make sure that you have not checked the "Delete items" option.
Step 7
Click on the "Start" button. The data synchronization procedure will begin. If all settings are correct, the required data will be copied to your Gmail account. To perform a second copy, you do not need to manually open the program - it will automatically save the necessary parameters according to the schedule specified in the settings.
