Modern technologies simplify the work of a professional and bring amateurs closer to the possibility of creating a high-quality audio track with an ordinary computer and sound editor. Sound recording usually means track-by-track (instrument by instrument) creation of a composition with live performers. But the beginning of the recording is not a press of the record button, but a preparatory stage.
Instructions
Step 1
The first step is to record the drum part. Prepare tools and equipment for work. Plug the instrument microphone cable into the microphone input of your computer. Place the head in the hole in the kick drum of the drum kit. Install and connect additional microphones to sound other drums.
Step 2
When the musician is ready, open the sound editor, play the metronome at the desired tempo and press the record button. Record the first section of the track (intro). If the musician hesitates, stop recording and start over. Repeat until you get an almost perfectly straight intro.
Step 3
Move on to the next part, usually a solo. Write it down in the same way, achieving perfect performance over and over again. Copy the lead into the parts of the track where it repeats.
Step 4
Record the rest of the parts in the same way: bridge, chorus, breakout.
Step 5
Connect the bass to the amplifier, place the microphone from the bass drum to the speaker. Go to the beginning of the recording and press the record button to record the first segment (intro). As with the drummer, keep trying until you record without hesitation. It's the same with the rest of the song.
Step 6
Unplug your guitar from your amp, plug in a rhythm guitar with an effects processor. The recording takes place according to the same principle.
Step 7
Then there are melodic and under-voice instruments: lead guitar, synthesizers, flutes, violins and others. Record electronic instruments by connecting to the amplifier (then the microphone is at the speaker), and acoustic instruments without amplification (the microphone is at the resonator hole or at the bell).
Step 8
Record your voice last.
Step 9
Process the recording by adjusting the balance of volume and frequencies, removing noise, adding effects. The recording is ready.
