It is almost impossible to make a PDA out of scrap materials or other equipment. Even if you try to do this, the time and money spent on self-assembly will exceed all the time and material costs for finding and purchasing this equipment. But it is quite possible to reflash an existing PDA.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are new to installing new software, then use the best official "flashing" of the PDA. The manual is usually supplied with the standard software. If your computer has an OS not lower than Windows XP, then there will be no problems with the firmware.
Step 2
Open the readme file and read the instructions for installing additional software. Connect the PDA to the computer. Your communicator should display a request for an activation code for reprogramming. You can get it on the website of your PDA manufacturer. After you enter the code, the flashing process will begin.
Step 3
For many users who have reflashed their PDA using the official version, it may come as an unpleasant surprise that after that there is too little space left in the main memory of the communicator. That is why there is also an unofficial PDA firmware.
Step 4
Please note: an unofficial flashing requires a pre-installation of the flasher.exe program. All firmwares come in a.bin file.
Step 5
Fully charge your Pocket PC. Close the ActiveSync process or disable the USB connection ("File" -> "Options" -> uncheck the "Allow USB connection" checkbox).
Step 6
Run flasher.exe. Boot the PDA in firmware mode. To do this, you must simultaneously press "Power" and "Record" (the button is located under the volume control) and the stylus - Reset. Practice beforehand with the PDA turned off, if you still do not have the necessary skill in working with the communicator.
Step 7
Wait until the firmware window appears. Connect to your computer. Select the firmware in the flasher.exe program. Wait for the process to complete. After that, simultaneously press "Power" and Reset with your stylus with your finger. Then press and hold the red button until the message about "Hard reset" appears. Finally, press and hold the left soft button Yes for a while. The firmware is complete.
