Currently, the world is saturated with various advanced technologies that allow you to stay in touch with family and friends anywhere in the world. One of the methods of communication has become a webcam, which interacts with a variety of special programs. Before starting a conversation, you need to configure the equipment, in particular the microphone.
Instructions
Step 1
Make sure the microphone in the camera is connected to the computer. Connection methods can be very different. If your device is equipped with a USB cable, you must plug it into the USB connector on your computer. As a rule, a PC may have several such connectors and some of them may be disabled as unnecessary, so connect the camera only to a working one.
Step 2
If the camera cable has a junction with a dedicated microphone plug at the end, plug it into the pink microphone jack on your computer. Cameras can also be wireless. In this case, connect the transceiver supplied with the package to the USB connector of your computer, and then set up the signal. To do this, press a special button on the transceiver, and while it is blinking, press a button similar to the webcam itself.
Step 3
Open the "Control Panel" menu and go to the "Sounds and Devices" section, in which click on the "Advanced" button. This will open the device mixer. Find the scale for the microphone volume. There is a "Off" item under it, if there is a checkmark in front of it, it means that the microphone is disabled. Remove it and move the volume slider to the top position.
Step 4
Use Skype chat software to test if your microphone is working. Open it and find the section "Tools" in the top menu bar, click on it. A drop-down window will appear in which you need to start the "Settings" section, and then go to the "Sound settings" item.
Step 5
Click on the drop-down arrow next to Microphone. Select the type of device that matches the microphone in the connected camera. If you are in doubt about which equipment to choose, then you can try all of them in turn until the sound appears.
Step 6
Next, go to the item "Volume". Uncheck the box next to "Allow automatic microphone setup". Adjust the microphone volume slider to the desired position. Further adjust it so that the sound level does not cause discomfort to your interlocutor.
