Disassembling a webcam is a rather laborious process, which in most cases ends with a device breakdown, even if you have experience with optical devices. It is important here to have the right tools and be sure to properly prepare the work surface. When disassembling devices at home in the absence of special equipment, in no case touch the chamber part.
Necessary
- - small Phillips screwdriver;
- - flat screwdriver;
- - a small crochet hook.
Instructions
Step 1
Disconnect your webcam from your computer. Examine its case for the presence of fasteners. It is best to find out in advance on the Internet whether special glue was used when assembling your model. Also check the camera stand, in some models the bottom of it detaches from the main unit, allowing access to the mounts. They can be located around the perimeter of the case, or they can hide behind special plugs. In any case, if you have such an opportunity, download a special manual for your device model, or at least one of your manufacturer's webcams.
Step 2
Unscrew all existing fasteners. Pry off the webcam case using a flat screwdriver, or if the device is made of hard plastic, it is better to use a plastic card. Detach the body parts and use a small crochet hook or other thin object to pry the mechanical buttons out of the panel. Do not under any circumstances disconnect them or pull on the wires of their connection with the microcircuit, as you may break them.
Step 3
Disconnect all visible internal elements, but not reaching the disassembly of the chamber part itself. This should only be done under specific conditions and using special equipment. Be extremely careful and do not lose the component parts, since you most likely will not find a replacement for them. When disassembling the webcam, it will not be superfluous to clean its body from accumulated dust, if any.
Step 4
Wipe the front panel of the device and the lens with a lint-free cloth. You can use a special liquid to remove streaks from LCD monitors for this. Reassemble the device in reverse order.
