Instructions

Step 1

Carry out diagnostics to determine what is the cause of the breakdown. According to experts, diagnosing a DVD player is not such an easy thing. This is due to the fact that these technical means have a complex testing system that allows you to independently diagnose the player for its malfunction.

Step 2

Having determined the cause of the breakdown, open the dvd player, unscrew all the screws with a screwdriver and remove the top cover. Then unscrew the disc holder bracket, which is secured with two screws.

Step 3

Check your disassembled dvd player for any foreign objects that might prevent the carriage from moving. If there are none, connect the dvd-player to the mains and press the "OPEN / CLOUSE" button: the carriage should move to the beginning, the tray will be in its working position, and the spindle motor will perform several revolutions.

Step 4

If the laser does not light up or its glow is too weak, check the cleanliness of the lens. To remove dust deposited on the lens, use a Q-tip moistened with water: touch the Q-tip to the lens surface and wipe the surface with gentle circular motions (from the center to the edge of the lens).

Step 5

Check the laser supply voltage as well as the node where it is generated. If no voltage is present when the disc is loaded, replace U301.

Step 6

Check how well the protective jumpers are wired.
