Pioneer is well established in the audio and video market. The quality of its products is known to buyers all over the world. DVD-players of this company have become very popular in many countries, including Russia. A common problem with this technique is the lack of Cyrillic in filenames. To fix this bug, you need to reflash your DVD player.

It is necessary

  • - a computer with Internet access;
  • - blank DVD disc;
  • - a program for burning DVD-discs.

Instructions

Step 1

Start flashing your Pioneer DVD player by visiting the company's website. Open the Pioneiro FAQ section (https://www.pioneerfaq.info/index.php?question=Firmwares) and find a list of firmwares that are freely available and provided to users for upgrading devices manufactured by the company.

Step 2

Turn on your DVD player and check the firmware number. To do this, go to the Home Menu from the device control panel, then go to the "Initial settings" item. Select Options and click the Display button. The firmware code will appear, consisting of letters and numbers. Remember this code, or better write it down, so as not to interrupt in the future the process of updating the player's firmware.

Step 3

Download and save on your computer the new firmware that describes your Pioneer DVD player model. The saving method differs depending on the web browser used.

Step 4

Unpack the archive with the firmware into a folder. Note that there is a.bin file, as this is the main startup file for the firmware. The firmware name must consist of an alphanumeric code. So, for example, if the old firmware is YKF9960B, the new one should be shown on the display screen as YOF9960B.

Step 5

Insert a blank DVD into the CD-ROM output tray of your computer. Burn the downloaded firmware to disk using any convenient program. You can use the preinstalled software that is part of Windows OS, or use Nero Burning Rom, Ashampoo Burning Studio, etc.

Step 6

Insert the recorded DVD into your Pioneer player. After starting, the device will analyze the content and, if the new firmware has been written correctly, will report the found update file and offer to start the process of changing the firmware. To confirm the start of the operation, press the Play button on the remote control.

Step 7

Gently remove the disc from the unit after the DVD player tray opens automatically. Do not press the buttons of the device or touch the remote control until a splash screen appears on the screen, indicating that the firmware process is complete.

Step 8

Reboot the player. After that, go back to the "Initial settings" and check the number of the firmware, which should change to a new one.
