A video surveillance system designed to work with only one camera is not that expensive. But if you have a Symbian smartphone released several years ago, you can do without this purchase. You can make him record the situation in the room completely programmatically.
Instructions
Step 1
Install the Python programming language interpreter on the device. Select the correct software package based on the Symbian operating system version on your device, and then download it from the following page:

Extract the SIS or SISX file from the downloaded archive. Place this file in the folder on the memory card named Others. Use the phone's file manager to navigate to this folder, and then run the file. The automatic installation will start. Answer yes to all questions, and select the memory card as the installation location.
Step 3
Download the archive with the Python script PySpy from the following page:
sourceforge.net/projects/pyspy/files/ Extract the.py file from the archive and place it in the folder where the Python interpreter stores the examples (this may vary depending on the Symbian version). Start the interpreter, then call this script. If an error occurs, just call it again - it will start correctly
Step 4
In the program menu, configure the following parameters: - local saving of images - enable or disable, depending on your preferences;
- the place to save pictures - be sure to select a memory card as such;
- method of notification of motion detection - dialing (specify number), sending SMS (specify number), sending MMS (specify number), sending e-mail (specify address).
Step 5
Dialing is the most economical method of notification, because if you do not answer calls and turn off the voice mail service on the receiving number, you can learn about intrusion into the premises for free. But remember that if no funds have been debited from the SIM card account within six months, it will be blocked. It is better not to use SMS notifications. Notification via MMS can be used when the service of unlimited sending of such messages is connected, remembering, however, that in practice this service is not completely unlimited: only 300 messages per day are not charged. In them you will receive photographs from the place of observation. You can use the notification via e-mail if the unlimited Internet access service is connected and the access point (APN) is configured correctly - Internet, not WAP. In this case, you will also receive photographs.
Step 6
Snapshots will be saved locally if the appropriate option is selected, even if a notification method is selected that does not imply their sending.
Step 7
Put your phone on constant charge. Install it so that the camera can view the desired part of the room. Secure it well, take measures to prevent it from being stolen. Make sure that when motion is detected, the phone notifies you about it in the way you have chosen.
Step 8
If you choose to save pictures locally, periodically check the memory card for fullness and delete any pictures that are no longer up-to-date. Back up any snapshots you find suspicious.
Step 9
Be sure to install a sign in the room notifying visitors that video surveillance is being carried out. Do not use pictures of people without their permission, except for the cases provided for in article 152.1 of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation.
Step 10
Since the system is not certified, do not use it to guard critical facilities.
