An amateur camcorder recording can be stored in the computer's memory and then burned to a DVD so that you can later watch the recording on a DVD player. To do this quickly and efficiently, you need to consistently perform several steps.

Step 1
Connect your camcorder to your computer. To do this, use the special cord sold with the device. In addition, the kit must include a disk with a driver program that must be installed on the computer. Connect the power supply to the camcorder so that the battery is not discharged at the most crucial moment, since the recording process cannot be interrupted.
Step 2
Close all extraneous applications while working; the computer processor load should be minimal. It is also better to temporarily turn off the antivirus and file download programs. Begin the process of writing to your hard drive. Choose the appropriate format. WMV is highly compressed, so the file takes up less space on your hard drive, but the recording quality will be low. AVI, on the contrary, requires a lot of free space on the hard drive, but the encoding result will also be better. Recording from a camcorder to a hard drive is a long process, so you'll have to wait.
Step 3
Edit the resulting video file. To do this, you can use the MovieMaker program. While not the best option for a professional, it is perfectly fine for home use. Launch it, insert a video and perform all the necessary operations: add titles, cut out unsuccessful fragments if necessary, make screensavers. Then save the file in the same format.
Step 4
Install a DVD publishing software such as DVDFlick on your computer. Open it and start the process of creating a new disc by clicking on the CreateDVD tab. If the program does not want to recognize audio or video files, install the latest K-Lite codec set on your computer. Finish creating the disc. Give it a name.
Step 5
Check the resulting disc. If you did everything correctly, it should be readable on any DVD player.
