It so happens that after a long period of inactivity, the inkjet printer, instead of starting printing, blinks with all the lights at once and does not want to accept the paper. The technique in this way signals that it is time to change the printhead.
Necessary
- - Epson r270 printer;
- - crosshead screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
First, remove the paper tray, the lid won't be in your way. Use your thumb to open the latch and pull the tray towards you with your other hand.
Step 2
Second, dismantle the bezels. Unscrew the screws and remove them. There are also latches under the screws, slightly press on them, the plastic will bend. Grasp the edge of the sidewall and slide the panel away from you. Follow the same steps to remove the panel on the other side.
Step 3
Next, you will see the USB frame, which also needs to be removed. To remove the frame, pull it up and back at the same time. There are screws under the frame that fix the case. There are two screws, they are on both sides of the printer and are located at the back. Unscrew the screws and remove the upper case. The screws secure the latches, slide them with both hands at the same time. Press down on the case around the edges and pull the plastic. Once the housing slides off, remove the printer cover upward.
Step 4
Remove the carriage assemblies. First, unlock it. Inside the printer, in the far left corner, there is a large white gear. Gently rotate this gear with your hands, note that the procedure must be carried out with the printer turned off. Before turning off the printer, check that the carriage is in the parking lot.
Step 5
Next, turn off all visible electrical loops, remove the safety plates - they are located on the outside and inside of the carriage. Remove the contact block of the chips. To do this, move the carriage all the way to the right, insert a screwdriver while pressing the latch. Lift the contact block of the chips up and remove the right part of it.
Step 6
Move the carriage all the way to the left. Remove the contact block of the chips on the left side in the same way as on the right.
In front of you is the print head. Unscrew the bolts, there should be three of them. Remove the ribbon cables from the connectors and remove the printhead.
