Uploading (downloading, installing) custom files on the iPhone can be performed only on a device with a previously performed jailbreak procedure, which opens full access to the gadget's file system. The jailbreak versions depend on the model of a particular iPhone, but remain completely free and freely redistributable.
Necessary
- - Cydia;
- - Cyberduck or WinSCP;
- - DiskAid;
- - Samba.
Instructions
Step 1
Expand Settings on the iPhone home page and navigate to Wi-Fi.
Step 2
Specify the wireless network you are using and remember the IP address of the device.
Step 3
Go to the "General" section and select "Auto-lock".
Step 4
Apply the checkbox to the Never box and close the Settings app.
Step 5
Go to the Manage section of the free Cydia app store and select Packages.
Step 6
Make sure the OpenSSH application is installed. If an installation is required, use the Networking section of the Sections node to identify and install the required application.
Step 7
Download and install Cyberduck (for Mac OS) or WinSCP (for Windows computers) on your computer.
Step 8
Run the installed program on your computer and specify the Open Connection command.
Step 9
Enter the value of the IP address of the mobile device in the Server field and specify the root value in the Username field of the program dialog box that opens.
Step 10
Select the default alpine password in the Password field and click the Connect button to establish a connection.
Step 11
Wait until the program message appears about creating (changing) the SSH key and click the OK button to confirm your choice.
Step 12
Transfer the necessary files to iPhone or use the option to edit access rights to selected applications.
Step 13
Use DiskAid File Manager if you cannot establish a wireless Wi-Fi connection to transfer the necessary data from your computer to iPhone. The program exists in versions for Mac OS and Windows OS.
Step 14
Install the Samba jailbreak tweak from the BigBoss repository to your mobile device, which activates the Windows standard network protocol (SMB) to display the iPhone in the list of network devices without the need for additional software (Windows OS only).
