But sometimes the computer suddenly announces that there is simply no data on the flash drive, the information is lost and, perhaps, forever. But don't panic. There is an exit.

Step 1
Loss of data on a USB flash drive usually begins with a message from the computer that the removable disk was not found, or found, but there is no access to it. In this case, it is often shown in the properties of a removable device that the disk has a size of 0 bytes, 0 is occupied, and there is also 0 bytes of free meta. We'll have to help the computer recognize the flash drive.
Restart the computer, disconnect and reconnect the USB flash drive, and it is better to connect it to the connectors not on the front, but on the back of the computer where the USB root hub is located. If the computer still refuses to accept the USB stick, authorize its formatting. Do not be intimidated by the inscription "Formatting will destroy all files on this disk", files will not be destroyed without a trace, we still have a chance to get them out.

The flash drive is formatted and is already opening. But it is empty, and in order to get old files back, you will have to resort to data recovery software. One of the best such programs is EasyRecovery Professional.
Run the program and select "Data Recovery" in the main window. In the window that opens, click on "Data recovery after formatting". The program will warn you that the recovered files must be copied to another drive. Click OK. Start a system scan. Select the files you want to recover from the list provided. Select the location where the recovered data will be copied. Click "Next", the copying process begins. When finished, click Finish.

After that, you can go to the section with the copied data and use them at your discretion. To avoid such excesses, always remember one thing. A USB flash drive is a convenient, but by no means the most reliable storage medium. Therefore, do not allow important files to be stored on only one USB flash drive, always make a backup. If the files are still missing, then stop all work with the flash drive until it is restored. In the process of work, new files can overwrite old ones, and then it will not be possible to restore the information that has already been lost.
