We are already forgetting about the times when it was almost impossible to buy a fashionable, beautiful thing in a store, so in many houses there were sewing machines in a prominent place, which helped us overcome this shortage. Burda's numbers with photographs and patterns could not be bought at the kiosks - they disappeared from there before they could be admitted. But even today there are those who like to sew a thing with their own hands, that thing that is unique and keeps the warmth of the hands of the craftswoman who sewed it.
Instructions
Step 1
Before starting work, tidy up the machine, even if it was stored in a tightly closed cover. Wipe the body and bed with a soft dry cloth, drop a little oil into the specially designed technological holes. Check the bobbin, remove the dust accumulated inside. Clean the annular groove where thread scraps tend to accumulate, they slow down the shuttle and are often the cause of overheating in electric sewing machines.
Step 2
Set the feed dog to the appropriate height for the fabric, if you will be using very thin or silk fabric, set the knob to the “Silk” position, all other fabrics are sewn in the “Normal” position.
Step 3
Adjust the pressure of the presser foot with the threaded sleeve located on the top of the presser bar. If the fabric is thick, then the pressure should be stronger.
Step 4
Depending on the type of fabric from which you are going to sew the product, select threads and needles with the appropriate number. Place a patch of fabric from which you are going to sew, sew a test seam, and adjust the stitch length. For thick fabrics, the stitch length should be more than 3 mm, for thin fabrics - 1-2 mm. Adjust the upper thread tension with the screw of the adjuster so that there are no loops on the wrong side of the seam.
Step 5
After finishing work, clean the bobbin case and the annular groove. Place a piece of fabric under the foot, lower the needle, lower the foot, and cover the machine with the cover.
