Modern woodworking machines are capable of performing many operations on wood. Woodworking includes sawing, drying, grinding, drilling. The quality of these operations depends entirely on the quality and type of equipment used. There are a large number of different woodworking machines, among which it is difficult for a layman to choose a suitable and high-quality machine.

Instructions

Step 1

Combined machine tools are currently the most popular in Russia. They have many functions and are capable of performing several operations. Almost all such machines are capable of longitudinal and transverse sawing and jointing. Some machines can work as a router, and some are capable of drilling holes in various types of wood.

Step 2

The more expensive the machine is, the more operations it performs. Despite the combination, such machines perform operations on wood at an average level, that is, much worse than specialized devices.

Step 3

If you are looking for a thicknessing machine mainly, then you should pay attention to a thicknessing machine, as it will do the job best. It is not worth picking up whole "combines", the functions of which are of little use. Combined machines are not capable of performing any processing at a truly high quality level, they only complicate the process, especially when performing a very large number of operations.

Step 4

Before purchasing a woodworking machine, decide on its tasks and functions. For profiling workpieces with a large cross-section (building beam), it is better to choose a machine with a cast bed. If the budget is relatively small, then you can choose devices with a welded bed, however, in terms of reliability, such a machine will be worse, and more useful for work that is not too large.

Step 5

For work in the country or in an apartment, a small household combined machine is perfect. When choosing, pay attention to the cutting depth (up to 85mm), planing width (for such devices up to 25mm). They are capable of operating in conventional 220V power grids.

Step 6

If you plan to organize production, it is better to order an industrial woodworking machine. It works with three-phase voltage, has a greater cutting depth and planing width, which directly depends on the power of the engine.
