Instructions

Step 1

If you are using a Nokia mobile phone, switch it on, open the main menu and go to the "Settings" item. Find and open the "Configuration" or "Internet" menu. Navigate to Personal Configuration Settings.

Step 2

If there are no entries in the menu that opens, then click the "Add" button and enter an arbitrary name for the new configuration of Internet access. Highlight the created item and press the "Select" or "Change" button.

Step 3

Open Account Name. Enter the required value into it. Customers of the operator "Megafon" need to enter the name Megafon. Leave the "Username" and "Password" items blank. Find "With preferred access point" and set it to "No".

Step 4

Open the Access Point Settings menu. In the "Proxy" column, set the value to "Disabled". Go to the Channel Setting menu. Open the Packet Data Access Point and enter the required value, for example internet.megafon.ru. In the Network Type field, select the IPv4 option. Open the "Authentication Type" item and set the value to "Normal". Leave the Username and Password fields blank. Save the settings and return to the Personal Configuration menu.

Step 5

Open the revised configuration and set the option to Yes in the With Preferred Access Point field. Open the Standard Configuration Settings menu and select the previously configured profile. Save the setpoints and restart the mobile phone. Try opening an Internet browser or a standard network access utility.

Step 6

Specify the exact values of the access point, username and password in advance on the website of your operator. Make sure you are using GPRS and not WAP. It is better to turn off the ability to access the network via WAP altogether.
